Situation of human rights in the Republic of the Congo
Note by the secretariat
1. In its resolution 1999/1, the Sub-Commission on the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights requested the Secretary-General to submit a report on the situation of human rights in the Republic of the Congo to the Commission on Human Rights and the Sub-Commission at their next sessions and recommended that the Commission should consider the question. The Sub-Commission decided, if the Commission was unable to do so, to continue consideration of the question at its fifty-second session.
2. The Secretary-General submitted to the Commission at its fifty-sixth session a report on the situation of human rights in the Republic of the Congo (E/CN.4/2000/30), which is available to the members of the Sub-Commission.
