Courses include the universal system of protection of human rights, the regional systems of protection of human rights, the American, African and European human rights systems, international criminal law and human rights,
international humanitarian law, transitional law, social and economic rights, children’s rights, women’s rights, minority rights, rights of refugees, the prohibition of torture in international human rights law, universal jurisdiction, foreign policy and human rights, human rights from an Asian and Arab perspective, etc.

Lectures are given by teachers of the organizing universities and institutes and by highly experienced practitioners in the field of human rights.


Degree, diploma or
certificate given

Upon completion of the International Human Rights Academy and satisfactory participation, each participant will receive a Certificate of Attendance.


Cost of tuition

The cost of participation is 1550 Euro per student. The amount covers tuition, course materials, full board, including accommodation and food.


Additional information

A limited number of scholarships will be awarded to participants from developing countries. In order to apply for a scholarship the participant has to present a copy of his/her pay-sheet and a letter of motivation.
