This year the course examines the psychological, geo-political aspects of the "new" war and its connection to globalisation and the identification of non-violent alternatives.

The Autonomous Province of Trento, the Municipality of Rovereto are local governmental institutions. Moreover every year the course receives the patronage of UNESCO.

Metodología empleada

The course takes place in a trans-national context of positive interaction between faculty and participants and of intensive exchange of experiences among persons from different cultures, societies and social backgrounds.


Requisitos de admisión

Priority for admission to the international course will be given to applicants who are active in organisations of civil society or social movements involved in human rights promotion, non-violent conflict transformation and peace education.


Información adicional

Objectives: The IUPIP course offers an annual three-week residential course in Rovereto to active members of NGOs and grassroots movements. The central areas addressed are people’s diplomacy, non-violent conflict resolution and related topics. The teaching faculty and participants are drawn from many countries all over the world.

The course is funded by the Autonomous Province of Trento (Italy); the Autonomous Region Trentino-Alto Adige and the Municipality of Rovereto (Italy).
