Contenido | This workshop on the role and future of non-violent action for peace activists analyzes non-violent action in conflict situations, during military actions, and in post-conflict situations. Non-violent action is examined a tool against militarism and for global justice. Strategies are presented. The workshop is an international gathering for activists to discuss the role and future of nonviolent action in Britain and around the world. The workshop brings together British and international activists to reflect on the events of the past year, share experiences, and hold discussions that will hopefully increase effectiveness in future activity. The gathering is split into two discreet sections: one day is spent looking at non-violent action within different countries and contexts, while the other is used for specific examples of international campaigns to make connections between militarism and globalization. Each thematic session includes a panel presentation and small group workshops. There is plenty of opportunity for informal discussion with other activists. | |
