Additional Information | The NIHR is a center at the Faculty of Law at the University of Oslo, Norway. We do research and education, but the institution also provides human rights
monitoring, election observations, and other projects. The NIHR is currently
looking into the possibility of becoming an official national institution for
the promotion and protection of human rights.
The NIHR cooperates closely with other Nordic human rights institutions, and also to some degree with SIM in the Netherlands. We are taking part in present talks about forming an organisation of European human rights institutions. In addition, our researchers all have personal international networks, also within the UN system, that adds to the institutional networks. In the future, there is a possibility that NIHR may be acknowledged as a National human right institution, and if this should be the case we would be taking part in the international networks that are developing for these institutions. | |
