The UNESCO Chair of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki is a member of
A) The International Network of UNESCO Chairs (since 1997) - The International Network of UNESCO Chairs consists of 450 Chairs based in universities and research institutes around the world. Fifty (50) of these Chairs work on Human Rights, Democracy, Tolerance, Peace and the Culture of Peace.
B) The European Master's Degree in Human Rights and Democratization (since 1998) - The programme is organized with the co-operation of 15 Universities, of all the Member States of the European Union and is co-ordinated by the University of Padova. Greece is represented in this Master’s Programme by the UNESCO Chair of the A.U.Th.
C) TEMPUS - JEP- The UNESCO Chair of the A.U.Th., has been participating since 1999, in a TEMPUS Programme (Contract N AC-JEP-14082-1999), which deals with "Peace Contents and methods in the academic education". The other participating Universities are: a) the University "Sts Cyril and Methodius" in Skopje - FYROM (co-ordinator) and b) the European University Centre for Peace Studies (EPU) in Stadtschlaining - Austria (contractor).
D) The International NGO “Ecole Instrument de Paix” - The UNESCO Chair of the A.U.Th. is the hellenic branch of this International NGO which deals with Education for Human Rights and Peace.
