Contenido |
This basic course on the international protection of human rights consists of lectures, case studies, and an exam. Specific subjects addressed include: philosophical and historical foundations of human rights, participation and democracy, the universal human rights system and international law, supervisory mechanisms, regional human rights systems, the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedom and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, economic and social rights, the Human Rights Committee, domestic implementation of human rights, the rights of minorities and indigenous peoples, the human rights of women, and human rights in Finnish foreign policy. | |

The course fee is FIM 2800, which includes lodging in double rooms at the University's guesthouse, written materials, and two receptions. For those not requiring lodging, the fee is FIM 2000. Students at Åbo Akademi University and the University of Turku are exempted from the fee. | |
