 Content |  There is a set of courses on democratic governance and human rights for the organization’s own personnel on issues of democratic governance and human rights at the introductory, middle and advanced level. These courses are used – or will be used – in a modified form for other target groups in Sweden (technical assistance personnel and consultants) or within Swedish development cooperation circles abroad (field personnel).
The organization’s Information Department carried out in 1999 an awareness campaign on the state of human rights globally, using print and visual media as vehicles. As a government agency, the organization also participated in the Swedish government official commission (1999-2000) into the situation and development of democracy in and through Sweden. |  |

The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency also finances a number of Swedish human rights organizations to work abroad and in Sweden on human rights information and education; in particular, it finances the Swedish Save the Children Organization. The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency has also part-financed and been a participant in broader campaigns and information activities carried out by other actors in Sweden. Most significantly, the organization was a sponsor and participant in the Stockholm international conference on sexual exploitation of children (1996). As Part of the Education Division’s overall work, the organization has organized several seminars on Human Rights Education and the Right to Education. |  |
