This one-week intensive course is meant to offer the participants an opportunity to develop specialist-level knowledge in the field of international human rights treaties on economic and social rights, in particular in the issue of their justiciability on the national and international level.

The course is composed of lectures, moot court exercises and an optional written examination.


Degree, diploma or
certificate given

Those who successfully complete the course, including the written examination, will receive a Certificate of Attendance equivalent to 5 Finnish credits or 7.5 ECTS credits.


Number of participants

The number of participants is restricted to 25.

13 September 2004.

Application procedure

Applicants should complete the Application Form, include 1–2 separate letters of recommendation in support of their application, and return the Form to the Institute for Human Rights at the address below.


Cost of tuition

The course fee is EUR 560. For those not requiring lodging, the fee is EUR 360.
