The course gives a thorough introduction to basic principles of human rights and their content and application. The course subjects will be: the United Nations human rights system; regional human rights conventions and systems; particular rights for groups, such as refugees, children, and minorities; the validity of human rights in different cultures; human rights and ethics; human rights and development; and human rights in practice.

Predominantly researchers from the Danish Centre for Human Rights.
Cost of tuition
Cost of attendance including lunch and coffee: DKK2800 for organisations, DKK 1250 for private persons.
The programme is implemented by the Danish Centre for Human Rights and the United Nations Information Office for the Nordic Countries.
In 2000, the course was held from 8-12 May and from 6-10 November.
