DATABASE ON HUMAN RIGHTS EDUCATION AND TRAINING

This database, which constitutes a contribution to the UN Decade for Human Rights Education (1995-2004) and to the World Programme for Human Rights Education (2005-ongoing), provides information on organizations, programmes and materials for human rights education and training. It aims to facilitate information-sharing on the many resources available in these areas. Information is accessible in three United Nations languages: English, French and Spanish.

The database is divided into four sections, which are all inter-linked:
' General (which shows all database documents together)
' Institutions (type, name, address, etc.)
' Programmes (type, description, target audience, etc.)
' Materials (bibliographic and substantive information)
Since January 2005, the database is under revision. Therefore, concerning human rights education and training materials, please refer to the OHCHR Library catalogue at: (http://www.ohchr.org/english/library/index.htm). For basic search please type only one keyword, such as “teaching/training guides” or “secondary school students” or "prison officials" or “human rights education” - and then select «subject» from the right-hand view.

New information on institutions, programmes and materials relating to human rights education and training can be forwarded to OHCHR by filling the relevant "Information Sheets".
